The composer is a tool to create music.

Instructions

Open the composer by equipping an instrument and clicking "Open composer...". In the Composer window from top to bottom, there are file loading/saving controls, an empty note sheet, options for the note sheet, and lastly a piano roll. You can start playing directly by either clicking the piano keys, or if you had a Midi keyboard plugged in, it will connect automatically and you will be able to use it. To manually disconnect or connect Midi keyboards, press the left checkmark.

To start recording notes in the note sheet, select a note slot by clicking in the note sheet, and either holding Ctrl and clicking on the piano key or toggling on the "record" button. To navigate keys, press left and right arrow keys. To adjust the tempo, tweak the first number spinbox (with the clock icon). To listen to your song, press "Play". To preview individual notes, press Middle mouse button on a note.

You can look at nearby player's instrument notes if you get close to them and press their name. Their notes will appear faded out in the background. This way, you can both arrange an interesting melody together. To auto-play your composition when someone else plays theirs, right click their name to toggle a play button. To mute a player's current instrument, middle click their name.
